I am new to Canada and stock market. What is the best way to start trading in Stock markets in Canada? It should be with minimal fees, has a good software that I can sell and purchase stocks myself easily. What organization/bank has it?

Thanks

I agree, TD Waterhouse gives you fast trading execution though you do pay a bit more for it and no investment advice . Most of the big banks have a discount brokerage arm. CIBC is good too with its $395 upfront fee for 50 trades, its hard to defeat that value. good luck

I use TD Waterhouse. Its a bit more costly than other discount brokers but I like their software and I can call them 24/24. they're polite and answer my questions happily. Being a discount broker they dont give trading advice.

Im in the USA.and can tell you nothing about the Canadian exchange s ..BUT, I visit a board at : investorvillage.com
Im am invested in Canadian Royal Trusts.and the board for CANROYS or any of the Canroys individually.HTE, PWE, PGH, PWI, CNE, etc. . is populated with many, many Canadian investors..most of them older.so they're a knowlegeable, friendly, polite bunch. Ask anything you want there and theyll fall all over each other to be the nicest man.
Great investment knowledge there, too.
You have to register no cost, no spam to ask or answer questions.but if you just want to peruse the situation 1st, you may be able to read all you want.
Good luck.
