GROUND ZERO Who was the 1st to attach the term to describe the World Trade Center site?
It was either the day of nine eleven or shortly thereafter that the world came to know the World Trade Center site as Ground Zero.
Who was the 1st to name or refer to the World Trade Center site as Ground Zero?
Was it a journalist, a politician, an attorney????
How did the name Ground Zero as applied to The World Trade Center come to be? |

The term Ground Zero was 1st used in print in July 1946 when a New York Times Reporter used the term about the bombs that won the war in the Pacific.
Stars &, Stripes/ Wed. October 3, 2201 By: Kevin Dougherty.
Though the first Atomic Bomb test was chosen as point zero. The base of the 100 ft. tower was called ground Zero.
I believe the 1st person to attach the term Ground Zero to describe the ground drastically transfromed by the The World Trade Center Attack of Sept, 11, 2001 was former Mayor, Rudy Giulianni, who as you may already know is both an attorney, and politician .
Mr. Giulianni a possible Election 2008 candidate on the Republician Ticket is sharply critized by The FDNY for his direction after this devasting event in our nations history. Guilianni isn't favored, nor considered to be a strong enough leader to assume the position of Commander In Chief. Time will tell. As, all one has to do is look at who now holds that position. |

Ground zero came from the trinity test of the atomic bomb.
They called it ground zero.
The attack on 9/11 had it starting point people can point to as the start and that could have been WTC.
My guess it was a journalist. |
