most of them nver ride that far. the old my legs dont bend like that's my favorite.
rode my 93 cbr1000f to bike week twice 8.5 hours staight. 54 mpg and I was sore for the 1st 100 miles but took some advil and I was good a little cold but ok. with a tankbag on you may be able to just lay on the tank so there's no stress on your upper body
rode the RC51 to the dragon second ride of the year twelve hour round trip in the summer my was hot bought a bag of ice at a fill up and cooled the seat and the boys down.
Its all what your used to some people are just candy arses |

500 miles on a sportbike SB is less time in the saddle because you're traveling two to three times faster. I.e., 500 miles on a ZX 14 at 200 mph = 2.5 hours. 500 miles on an H D cruiser at 75mph = 6.7 hours.
Even if the H D was 10x more comfy, I can not sit anywhere much longer than 2.5 hours without to get a sore asss.
Ive ridden 1000 miles in a day. it assists to have some weight on your arms, like with a SB position. I find it comfy. A tank bag, as someone else mentioned. also helps. On a SB, you may be able to put your feet on the rear pegs too. |

| 500 miles on any bike will hurt your @$$. A sport bike will be uneasy much sooner. Mine 2000 zr7 gets really uneasy after about three hours of straight riding. |

| my Honda sport bike cramps my leg circulation at about 100 M, but if I hold my legs out straight it goes away. after about 300m the Kansas wind buffeting kind of kicks in and I notice the neck needs to be moved more to keep it limber, but I typically fuel at 280 and do a walk around. By 400 the leathers have set to me and Im ok except for the sporadic leg straightening. Before 500 I need food and a walk around the bike. The next day I'm a bit inflexible and tired. Oh by the way I'm nearly 60. The Concours had more legroom, but didn't avoid road hazards as quickly. The old Triumph needed repairs every 85 miles. I have been thinking maybe something more fitting my age with more leg room like a super duke. Ill look at ST1300s when I hit 70. |

No fear. if your riding a sportsbike as it was intended to be ridden it wont be a problem.
I ride mine from sun up till sundown at velocity with no aches and pains because im active on the bike, jumping all over it keeping the rear following the front. This is on the twisty roads, on the motorways the rear gets a bit numb after a bit so I turn off and go another way. |

| It depends on the cruiser you're speaking of. Lets say that you're on a sport bike and your friend has a new Harley Davidson Road King. I expect you'll be begging him to trade in 100 miles, |

| I have ridden sportbikes and experienced back pains and leg cramps on a 60 mile ride. I like riding sitting up being able stretch my legs on my forward pegs and enjoying the ride. I have also owned a Sportster with forward controls and foot pegs. I changed the stock seat for a touring seat and have comfortably ridden much longer distances. it's all in what kind of riding you like to do. If you enjoy taking your time and enjoying the scenery it's better to sit back and relax. If you just want to get from place to place in the minimum time possible, a sportbike can do this. The important thing is enjoy the ride. One important point, sportbikes aren't made for the comfort of a passenger, those tiny seats on the rear fenders and knees up to their chests, cant be, particularly on a long trip. there's nothing more enjoyable than doing the ride with your wife or girlfriend. |

| I rode from Texas to Ohio only stopping for food and fuel.It was a 27 hour ride.My asss was still numb three days afterward. Of course it wasnt on a sportbike because they're ugly and I wouldnt own one.Next time Ill take some breaks and a couple of days.500 miles is an easy trip. |

Ive done 538 mile day against a strong head wind on my cruiser, got home and went dancing.
The crotch rocket squids think a 150 mile day is a real feat. |
