If I have $100,000 to invest in stocks or ETFs, which stocks am I supposed to invest in? Its for a game.?
Its for an investment game in college and I really need help. The two prerequisites is that I have to atleast have two stocks and invest atleast $50,000. Once I pick this portfolio, I wont be able to change it through the semester. the professor suggests between five 15 stocks. help. |

I wouldnt pick more than five seven stocks.
I could pick a approach, possibly dogs of the dow highest yielding stocks . I wouldnt go with Motley Fool or any other Published list, by the time theyre published a lot of the legs are gone on them.
Personally, I happen to like Merck, they got nailed on the VIOXX humiliation, I bought the day the stock went down 7%, but it pays a good dividend. I also like Altria phillip morris, if they shed Kraft the stock should go up, and Chinas not going to stop smoking any time soon. Walmarts been beaten down, dont know if it'll recover in a semester, I purchase for the long run, not for some months. Oil stocks will probabyl lose their luster for some months,, but you may want to go for a strong natural gas or another utility company, typically good in the fall / winter as prices and contracts go up like Thermogas. Fords still lagging, but GMs got legs, should be in the 40s by the end of the year. Bank of America is one of the stronger banks and should do better than Chase and some of the others they got banged around, but are looking good on their balance sheets. |

| diversify.go for a couple higher risk newer markets and some stable slower growth...just an idea, if youre able to sell at all I could do Radio Shack now. Theyve been around forever, but they had some negative press coverage so their prices will most likely drop then rebound.same thing happened with McDs a couple years ago. |

| Since its a game, you may be able to invest on Genta GNTA, a bio pharmaceutical company that may be accepted by Oct 31. The drug is going to hit a landmark on sept.6. High risk stock, but has possibilities to skyrocket. If you want something safer, attempt ITU Brazilian bank that has great margins and is growing pretty quickly. |
