Is anybody else making an obscene amount of money in this recession the Liberals say were in?
I made nearly $250 yesterday alone, and I dont have much invested. Not any more than the average American can save up in the amount of time I have, anyway.
Boy, if this is a bad economy, I'd like to see what a good one will do.. Agreed?
So, why do you say the economy is doing bad? Unemployment is down:
data.bls.gov/PDQ/servlet/SurveyOu.
and the stock market is up.
Now, you can be saying the dollar is at an all time low, but that's clearly not keeping everyday, center class Americans like me from earning money, so what does it matter?
I dont do anything special. Every dollar I save is in Vanguard Mutual money, I dont do day trading or any of that foolishness. I put my money in and keep it there, through good times and bad. And this is the most money I have made since before the internet bubble burst Thanks, Bill Clinton
So, why is the economy SOOOO bad?? |

Even the Liberal media isn't any longer stating the economy is bad.
The DOW is record. Unemployment is down. earning is up. Interest is holding. Inflation is holding. The only negative is in the housing sector, and that's caused by an over heated boom. it's just settling to where it should be.
Truthfully, the money is in investing. No, I'm not to get filthy rich. I was in school when the market was cheap, and I'm in debt. I don't believe in investing till I pay the debt. I think most likely many of the grousers are in my shoes.
But I own my choices. I made them. I'm not looking for a bail out. Just let me keep what I can earn, and dont tax me into poverty. |

| Wages are stagnant or down. Cost of living is up. Foreclosures are skyrocketing. Were in debt up to our eyeballs. And the gap between the rich and the poor is rising exponentially. |

| At any given time, there are indications of a great economy and a bad economy. There are lots of things going great in the economy now. But there are lots of bad things. You just have to see who the bad things are hurting. now, people with investments and money are making lots off their investments and making more money. But the poor and lower center class are barely gaining anything. |

| I am in sales and my earning increased steadily since 2000. Last year I had a personal best in sales and I have been leading the company in sales since 2004. If the economy keeps up, I'll make a good living this year and also give a big amount to the federal and state tax receipts. |

LOL
If youre going to say the economy is GOOD, you must think about ALL factors, not just the positive ones.
Lets look at the fact that the cost of living is skyrocketing costs of products sold is going up across the board, with no agreeing increase in the average Americans earning.
Gas is predicted to be $4 a gallon this summer. FOUR DOLLARS A GALLON.
I promise you that my employer isn't giving me a salary increase before this happens to cover this extra expense of commuting to work.
And before you say it. there's no public transportation that can get me from my house to my office, or trust me, Id be taking it.
Thats just an example. but go to a grocery store and look around, and ask the AVERAGE American if he or she feels like the cost of living increase is meeting the demands of the real cost of living in this country.
You may be surprised at the answer you get. |

Everytime I have interest on my account I have to withdraw it for medical, car, home enhancements, so really It just stays the same. Since 2002 I lost all my retirement from a last employer when I rolled over in stocks and what not.
Im not trying to be pessimistic, but Ive been trying to get ahead for many years, and I dont see a promising future. |

I am happy for you and your Obscene amount of $91.250 per year. don't use up it all in one place Mr. Moneybags.
You still don't get it. Or don't want to get it. Record forclosures don't a great economy make. |

| My investments are doing well. But unlike you I care about everybody else. And everybody does better when EVERYBODY does better. Its not good enough for the Investor Class to prosper when the center Class is to get squeezed and caused by stagnant wages cant keep up with ever increasing energy, health care and education costs. |

I wonder where crappy Duck lives.
Cost of living is skyrocketing ?? Inflation is hovering below 3%.
And gas is only projected to talk to $4/gallon in the most costly regions. The national average is projected to barely breach $3/gallon. |

| Its the liberal negativism that they thrive on. I mean who wouldnt be elated that the economy is doing so well?? Its sad how many people who are really believing this and don’t have peace in their lives. |

First of all, the stock market isn't a measure of the economy form or form. Its part of the economy, but it isn't THE economy., The economy is calculated by the GDP. This is a universally accepted idea. GDP growth hasn't been spectacular recently. In fact in Q1 GDP growth was quite low.
I also invest in Vanguard money, and the sotck market is doing well for my 401k and what not, but it hasn't changed my in general economic situation. I still earn the same amount of earning when the market is up and down. I dont work any harder when the market is up. BUsiness isn't any more or less productive when the market moves one way or the other.
Youd be wise to research some of these macro economic notions before starting a subject like this.
here is some reality for you
WASHINGTON The growth in worker productivity slowed in the 1st three months of this year but so did wages, evidence that a slowing economy is holding down inflation.
Wages slowed more sharply with unit labor costs increasing at a 0.6 % rate, in comparison to a 6.2 % surge in the last three months of last year when year end bonuses for high earning workers had inflated the number. |

Well you shouldnt see your stocks with the current recession as with current trends, by year end your stocks should be higher.
A recession is an economic downturn important enough, depending on work data and other indicators, to be declared a recession by the National Bureau of Economic Research NBER . Under current conditions a contraction of general business activity is more probable than continued expansion. it's a prediction and it may be wrong.
Theres a lag between an economic trend and the time the government issues statistics about it. |
