Stock Market?

No one can perfectly answer your question as any single stock moves with news, interest rates, demand and supply, competition on business, income, acquision, etc. There are so many factors to dictate the price of any stock to move up or down. My best bet could be oil, gold, and water stocks be the best place to invest in if you need a lasting investment like ten 20 years horizons . If there's no alternative energy resource is discovered can you imagine how much price could you be paying for a gallon of gas in 20 years from now??
Good luck.

If you really mean long term, then it really doesnt matter, as long as you decide a hard blue chip company. But it could be ill told to put all your money in one issue, you'll minimize risk and maximize return by spreading your cash across a range of stocks.

Divide your available capital into five, and purchase equal dollar amounts of the five highest yielding, lowest price Dow parts the Dogs of the Dow, hold them for at least 13 months, and you cant go wrong.

Happy investing.

Give Southern Copper PCU some study.there looks to be a real demand for materials of all kinds as China and some other markets are growing.it could last for many years. The big advantage with PCU is their 10% + dividend. youll continue to make a 10% get when the market is fluctuating
Another divvy stock but in energy is ETP.about 5% there but more chance that the share price will climb at a nice rate, too. energy resources get more scarce year after year ..maybe that matches your long term prerequisite better.
AAPL, T, PG, JNJ..all good long termers.
